Comments: Been listening to 435 and 450 for 3 years I’d say. Even tuning in as a newcomer, I could tell Terry was the icon of ham radio out your folks’ direction in California. I respected him so much that I actually purchased a postcard of the old service boat he served on (USS Union) and sent it to him for his birthday. Never met him personally, but when he noted on the air that he received it in the mail and thanked me for it, it felt like a celebrity acknowledged me lol… You don’t get this type of ham radio in Mississippi where I live, so that’s why I tune in all the time. It was truly a pleasure to listen on what Terry was up to and learn about his life.
Comments: Darin called Sue last night. It's always sad when people pass😔 He had a very event filled, long and full life. Married young, duty in the Navy, supportive loving wife, long marriage, many children, many many grandchildren and enjoying hobby ham radio the entire time! Although he n I were politically polar opposites, we occasionally had great discussions about movies, history, ships and a variety of subjects. A down-to-earth guy, Navy Veteran, family man, positive thinker. He deserves our respect. Rest In Peace. May God bring you home with no delay. We will QSO again in the next world.
